Cornered by a camera crew during a training session, the Venezuelan powerhouse didn’t name a single name — she didn’t need to. “Everyone in that locker room is introducing themselves so politely,” she said, not smiling. “I don’t do introductions. I do Sudden Death, and then everyone already knows who I am.” Asked if she had a message for whoever she’s facing on debut night, she shrugged. “Whoever it is should already be worried. That’s the message.”

No opponent has been announced for her. But of everyone still waiting to make a first impression on DRC’s audience, Hermanos made clear tonight she isn’t planning on a subtle one.
