Bulldog Bully Stephenson Finally Says What He Thinks Of The Vacant Title

Two weeks out from DRC’s first night, most of the roster has been asked the same question — what does the vacant Heavyweight Title mean to you — and most of the roster has ducked it. Bulldog Bully Stephenson didn’t.

“There’s a belt with nobody’s name on it,” Stephenson said, grinning like the question wasn’t even a challenge. “That doesn’t happen twice in a career. I want it. I’m not going to pretend otherwise, and I’m not going to apologize for it either.”

Asked whether he’d heard Nakazumi Hawaaiti stake a similar claim earlier this month, Stephenson didn’t flinch. “Good. Means whoever wins it earned it.” No shots, no manufactured heat — just a small-town strongman who’s never needed to be the villain to be dangerous, saying plainly that he intends to be in the conversation when DRC crowns its first champion.
