The Obscure Illusionist

Nobody in DRC’s front office will confirm where The Obscure Illusionist came from, and she’s never once broken character to clarify — the runes on her gear, the purple smoke at her entrance, the total silence in interviews, it’s all exactly as much mystery as it looks like. What isn’t mysterious is that she’s very good: she wrestles with a misdirection-heavy style, feinting one attack and landing another, so opponents spend half the match reacting to the wrong thing. Crowds have embraced the character completely, treating every match like it might reveal something about her and being perfectly happy when it doesn’t. She rarely speaks even in victory, letting the mask do the talking. The Vanishing Act, her finisher, is a rollup she seems to appear inside of a split second after her opponent was certain she wasn’t there.
